NOTES:

This is one of those songs that seem to have a different version of the intro in every transcription. I spent hours back in the 1980s trying to figure out what was being played - I even designed and built an electronic circuit to slow down my cassette player motor to half speed so I could hear better. Unfortunately, due to the mix, the toms were louder than the bass guitar on the run down so I couldn't tell what Geddy was doing. I heard that the original master tapes have been lost so there's no way of listening to the bass guitar stem. I have written out a transcription of the bass and guitar intro together so that you can see how they fit together. Be sure to listen to the way that the guitar only plays the first half of the riff at barre 7. Anyway, this is my latest version and is as accurate as I can make it although there's probably some AI software somewhere out there that can separate the instruments and clear up the mystery once and for all.
