Today I've uploaded the album Stoosh by Skunk Anansie. A total of 9 tracks from one of the best bands to appear in the 1990s. I recommend that you go and see Skunk Anansie live if you get the chance, I saw them on the tour that was promoting Stoosh and the sound from 1 guitar, 1 bass, a set of drums and Skin's vocals was massive. Bassist Cass plays some killer rock-funk lines on this album and now you can do the same!

More new songs added today. These are cover band crowd pleasers and were used for a band I stepped in for when the bass player couln't make the gigs. These tracks are a bit lighter than the usual stuff I play and include songs from people/bands; Kings Of Leon, Lionel Richie, The Calling, A-ha, Dead Or Alive, Fratellis, Huey Lewis, Bon Jovi, Royal Blood, Bruno Mars, The Killers, Queens Of The Stone Age, Feeder, Cutting Crew, Aerosmith and Kings Of Leon.

I still have hundreds more basslines to upload so bookmark the website and keep checking in for more bass-y goodness.

Back in the early 2010s I joined a hard rock/metal band and I've uploaded the complete set list for you to play. We covered everything from NWOBHM bands like Judas Priest, Motorhead and Iron Maiden, added some heavier modern stuff eg. Slash, Probot, Saliva, Pantera, Godsmack and Drowning Pool. That's not counting the tracks from the usual rock favourites AC/DC and Foo Fighters. To top it all off there's even some power pop-y stuff from Towers Of London and The Vapors classic Turning Japanese. In all, that's another 27 songs added to the list.

I came across a couple of tracks that I only put a song title on called Welcome To The Party and Why. Who are they by? I've tried searching on Google and YouTube and the mystery remains! Have a look on the unknownartist?? page and see if you can help me to identify them. Let me know on bob@bobsbasslines.com

It's another Judie Tzuke day! Take a look at every track from Judie's second album Sportscar. I've also fixed a few mistakes on her track Higher And Higher from the Phoenix album. Check it all out and leave a few comments on the Facebook page. Coming soon are songs from a heavier-ish rock band I was in about 10 years ago. Stuff from Ozzy, Priest, Metallica and Pantera amongst others.

I have added a few more songs today for your musical pleasure. A few years ago I was going to audition for a band and had five songs to learn.... Geno by Dexys, A Design for Life by the Manics, Real Gone Kid by Deacon Blue (yeah?.. no me neither but you might recognise it when you hear it!), Eighth Day by Hazel O'Connor and what must've been the inspiration for Jilted John - Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've) by the Buzzcocks. There's also a mystery version of Thunder's Love Walked In (Let me know if you recognise it). I love the work of Judie Tzuke so I have added all the tracks from her first album Welcome To The Cruise and three tracks from her third album - I Am The Phoenix.

Welcome to Bob’s Basslines!

I began transcribing basslines back in the early 1980s for playing in cover bands and playing my favourite music at home for pleasure. I’ve amassed a large collection of basslines which are just hanging around at home hardly ever being looked at, so I thought I’d offer them up for other bass players to use.

In my experience, most online transcriptions are pretty unreliable so this website aims to be as accurate as possible.

I don't charge or require anyone to "sign up" for the transcriptions - just find what you like and download it. They are for study/educational/personal use only.

At the moment there are about 140 basslines for you to peruse, but I have hundreds more to put on the site. Please bookmark and pop back every now and again to see what else has been added.

For those of you that might want to interract with other bass players and discuss the music on this website, I've set up a Facebook page. I'll also use this as an extra place to announce new additions to the songbook. You can go and give me a 'like' at https://www.facebook.com/bobsbasslines
